The Arizona-Mexico border extends almost 400 miles through vast and rugged terrain.

But, the border has come to represent much more than just a line in the sand. For many, it’s a symbol of our nation’s immigration policy. It’s a territory known for drug and human smuggling as well as legitimate business and trade.

A Tucson-based publication is going to take a close-up look at the border and the people who live there in a new project called “Panorama de la linea.”

Dylan Smith is Editor and Publisher of TucsonSentinel.com.
