Arizona Has Second-Biggest Rise In Higher Education Enrollment
New numbers from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center show Arizona had the second-biggest jump in post-secondary enrollment in the country this fall. New Hampshire had the highest.
Arizona’s 5.2 percent increase followed a nearly 6 percent decrease in the fall of 2013.
The researchers said Arizona’s increase is driven by strong growth in 4-year public and for-profit institutions, which offset enrollment declines in 2-year colleges.
Eileen Klein, President of the Arizona Board of Regents, said the state’s three public universities saw record enrollment this year.
