The FBI continues to pursue the idea of gaining access to encrypted cellphones, arguing the nation is less safe because of encryption.

The agency claims that the tech experts of Silicon Valley could create a method that would help the FBI while also continuing to protect consumer privacy. But many cyber security experts say that’s not the case, and some lawmakers have expressed concerns about the FBI misleading the public.
