Every week, The Show checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic. It’s a regular segment where we talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

Last week, the Arizona Supreme Court struck down a 2012 state law banning medical marijuana on college campuses.

The justices said the measure did not “further the purpose” of the voter-approved medical marijuana program. The court also overturned the conviction of an ASU student with a medical marijuana card who was arrested after police found pot in his dorm room. However, the ruling does allow colleges and universities to set up administrative rules on the use and possession of marijuana.

The Show talked about this is Phil Boas, editorial director of the Arizona Republic.
