Economist Weighs In On Arizona's Proposed Education Plan

With the newly proposed Invest In Education Act, supporters want to avoid a sales tax hike as a vehicle for funding schools. The other plan, Gov. Doug Ducey’s 20x2020 plan, takes a different approach, though funding sources for that remain unclear.

Rep. Paul Boyer, chair of the education committee, is a supporter of the governor’s plan and gave us some clues last week about what that plan’s specifics might look like.

So are these plans sustainable for Arizona teachers and schools? For that answer, The Show turned to economist Jim Rounds of Rounds Consulting.
