Now we’re going to check in with the Editorial Board of The Arizona Republic. It’s a regular segment where we talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

To a lot of Americans, it appears that what divides us is gaining momentum over what unites us. And a new PBS film, "American Creed," digs deeply into whether those divisions can be overcome by this country’s populace having a common purpose.
