Vern Swaback and his book "Designing for the Life of Community at a Time of Great Change.

The great architect Frank Lloyd Wright influenced the future of design in many ways — but one important one is in the legacy he left behind in his apprentices.

Vern Swaback was one of them. He studied under Wright from 1957 until 1978 at Taliesen West, his Scottsdale home, studio and school. Swaback went on to become a celebrated architect in his own right as the founder and managing partner of Swaback Partners.

Last night, Swaback spoke at Taliesen West about his experience working under Wright.

Vern Swaback was an apprentice to the late architect Frank Lloyd Wright. His new book is called “Designing for the Life of Community at a Time of Great Change.”
