This Veterans Day, the Phoenix-based nonprofit Helping Hands for Freedom will hold a benefit concert for families of the fallen, wounded and deployed.

It’s called Freedom to Rock, and it’s being billed as a tribute America’s Heroes featuring the music of the 1980s.

The recent news of the deaths of four special operations soldiers in Niger reminds us that we are still at war around the world with military members risking their lives. And the controversy surrounding President Trump’s treatment of Gold Star Families has made this Veterans Day even more poignant.

Joining us now is Eric Snelz, CEO and executive director of Helping Hands for Freedom and the father of vet who served in the war in Afghanistan.

And also with us is Annette Hill, a Valley resident and Gold Star ,other whose son Adam served two tours in Iraq and died in a suicide as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder exactly eight years ago.
