What’s in a name…or a pronunciation, for that matter? Whether you pronounce it like jiff or gif with a hard "g" or even jyfe, we’re talking about Graphics Interchange Formats — image files that you’ve seen countless times online.

But seeing GIFs away from our computer or smartphone screens is becoming a little more common.

Recently, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art held a recent exhibit featuring GIFs as part of its MediaLive Festival and Exhibition.
