This year has been a really tough for many people. So as 2106 draws to a close, we wanted to take a minute to celebrate a few things we loved from this year, in a series called “My Favorite Things.”

We spoke with local artist named Angela Ellsworth, founder and artistic director of the Museum of Walking (MoW).

The MoW has been around since 2014 and is dedicated to the idea that walking itself is an art practice. Angela Ellsworth and others at the museum lead walks for community members all over the city.

Ellsworth shared some of her favorite walks from this year, and some of the most memorable experiences she had while walking. Ellsworth started by explaining what going on a group walk, often with a bunch of strangers, is like.

We’ll be talking with other community members about their favorite things from 2016 through the first week of the new year.
