Gov. Ducey Observes 75th Anniversary Of The Attack On Pearl Harbor In Hawaii

Published: Thursday, December 8, 2016 - 7:14am

Gov. Doug Ducey has been in Hawaii, observing the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

He presented a wreath at the USS Arizona, and met with survivors of the attack. Ducey said talking to those veterans gives the ceremonies more meaning.

"Just their faces tell a thousand words, in terms of the story," Ducey said. "But, it’s also not only important for us in leadership and citizens to hear these stories, but for our kids to hear these stories, to realize the abundance we’ve inherited and the people that came before us and the sacrifice that they’ve made."

Ducey said those survivors teach the lessons of humility, and the need to listen to and learn from each other.
