Gold King Mine.

The Navajo Nation filed a lawsuit in federal court Tuesday over a massive mine waste spill that tainted rivers in three western states last year.

The blowout sent wastewater containing arsenic, lead and other heavy metals into the Animas River.

The lawsuit was filed against seven defendants and tribal officials held a press event in Shiprock, New Mexico offer a few more details. KJZZ senior field correspondent Carrie Jung watched the conference.
