Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton wants the Valley to send more of its products and services to international markets.

“This economy is going global," Stanton said. "Those cities that can best prepare their workforce for the international marketplace are going to be those that take greatest advantage of what’s coming in the economies of the near future."

He’s the new regional council chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments, or MAG, and one of his priorities is to build a regional export-based economy.
