Gov. Ducey Signs New Laws To Boost Arizona's Sharing Economy
Gov. Doug Ducey has signed into law three bills that he says will boost Arizona’s sharing economy. The action follows the vision he laid out during January’s State of the State speech.
The bills will basically allow companies to pay taxes on behalf of their customers — that was a big issue for people who use homesharing services like Airbnb — generally require new regulations to come from the Legislature and clarify a business’ relationship with an independent contractor.
To get a sense of what kind of impact these bills might have on Arizona’s sharing economy, we talked to Jon Fruitkin with the Fruitkin Law Firm. He’s also written about this subject called “Equity Crowdfunding.”
