The microelectronics industry is ready to take off again in the Valley, according to a report issued Tuesday by the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and the industry trade association — Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International Americas.

Employees in the industry have decreased significantly over the past decade, but it’s still seen as one of the Valley’s opportunities to excel and compete.

Chris Camacho, president and CEO of GPEC, spoke about the report.
