Arizona is the 27th most religious state in the country, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center.
The group looked at criteria including how many residents said religion is very important in their lives, how many attend worship services at least weekly and how many pray daily. Arizona’s ranking of 53 percent of adults who are “highly religious” puts the state in a tie with Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and North Dakota.
Greg Smith, associate director for religion research at Pew , spoke about the report.
