APS has been planning for high summer demand in Phoenix for years. Here's how

Temperature records aren’t the only things we’ve broken this summer.
Utilities Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service reported record electricity usage as households battle the intense summer heat. Some are concerned that peak usage is straining utility infrastructure, as the utilities report their power plants have been forced to work around the clock. In these temperatures, blackouts or even brownouts could be deadly.
But, there were no such incidents in July and as we enter August and temps — hopefully — decrease slightly, both companies report electricity usage has begun to go down.
The Show talked about how APS is handling the high demand with company president Ted Geisler.
