Charlie Blonkenfeld has been in the food business for a long time. His latest project is a nondescript, strip-mall bagel shop called Bagelfeld’s in east Phoenix.

He started during the pandemic, selling his bagels at farmers markets and a few local businesses. 

But then, last month, everything changed for him, pretty much overnight. It happened after Bon Appetit published a list of the 24 best bagel shops around the country — and Bagelfeld’s made the list. 

Ever since, it’s been a wild ride for Blonkenfeld and The Show got the chance to talk to him more about it.
