Read Better Be Better’s mission is to connect young readers and youth leaders.

What books and what kinds of books students should have access to in school has been a big topic of conversation over the last few years, both here in Arizona and across the country.

But sometimes lost in that discussion is the question of what reading level kids are at? According to the Arizona Progress Meter, 41% of third-graders are reading at grade level. The state’s goal is 72%.

The Show talked more about where Arizona is right now with literacy rate with Sophie Allen-Etchart, founder and CEO of the nonprofit Read Better Be Better.
