AZ dispensaries are working with poison control to keep marijuana edibles away from kids

Arizona law requires manufacturers and dispensaries to must place edible marijuana into child-resistant packaging, such as these bottles from a Scottsdale dispensary.
Last year saw an increase in the number of pediatric poison control cases tied to cannabis-related products. Out of 739 total cannabis incidents, 394 involved children — and 60% of those cases involved a trip to the hospital.
In an effort to help curb these incidents, the Arizona Dispensaries Association and the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center are announcing a new partnership to raise awareness about the potential dangers associated with accidental cannabis ingestion, particularly in children.
