GOP lawmakers know Hobbs will veto their baseline budget. Here's why they're submitting it

Republicans at the state Capitol are getting ready to send their version of a state budget to Gov. Katie Hobbs — a baseline budget that will likely be met with a hasty veto.
This comes after the new Democratic governor came out strong with an ambitious — and rather liberal — budget proposal earlier this month.
So, why do it at all? And how will lawmakers this far apart ever come to an agreement on how to fund the government? For answers, The Show turned to Ben Giles, KJZZ’s political editor.
