The number of flu cases in Arizona fell about 9% this week

It’s still cold and flu season, but this week the number of flu cases in Arizona fell roughly 9%.

Dr. Kiran Raman is with the Arizona Department of Health Services. She says while the current case counts on the flu, RSV and COVID-19 have her cautiously optimistic, she still encourages people to take measures against getting sick.

“I get it. There’s these viruses and they just keep coming, and they don’t seem to ever go away,” Raman said. “And you know, if it’s not COVID it’s flu, if it’s not flu it’s RSV. But the thing to keep in mind is that, like I said, we have those great tools in our toolkit.”

Raman says those tools are vaccines, handwashing and staying home when sick.
