Republicans will take control of the U.S. House with a slim majority in January. And some Arizona representatives are pushing for investigations into members of the Biden administration.

Conservative Arizona House members Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs and Debbie Lesko are continuing to call for Congress to investigate Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. His department oversees the U.S. Border Patrol. Lesko blames Mayorkas for a record number of recent migrant border crossings.

“Mayorkas is unfit to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security. His actions and inaction need to be investigated. He needs to be impeached,” Lesko said.

Gosar has named a number of members of the Biden administration he'd like to see investigated, but says Mayorkas tops his list.

“Mayorkas should be the first person on the docket,” Gosar said. “Because there’s evidence there. And we’re half a world away fighting over a border between Russia and Ukraine, and yet we have an open border just to the south of us.”

Lesko and Gosar have both signed on as co-sponsors of a resolution Biggs introduced to impeach Mayorkas.
