Why a Tempe man wants to tattoo himself every day for a year

Tattoos are a big commitment. You’re almost guaranteed that mark will be with you forever. So it makes sense that for even the biggest ink fans, getting a tattoo isn’t something that happens every day.
That’s not the case for Noah Brady. For the past four-and-a-half months, the 20-year-old Tempe resident has been adding a new tattoo to his collection every day. And he’s not stopping.
From his upper thighs to the bottom of his foot, Brady’s legs are almost completely covered in small, self-done tattoos. He’s tattooed everything from his own portrait, an 8 ball, the moon and more.
"Right now I’m doing a challenge of tattooing myself every day for a year, mainly because I wanted to, and second because I think it’s fun for other people to watch, too," Brady said. "My favorite one I’ve done so far is probably a remote pointing at a TV that says 'swag' on the inside. And it’s turning on, so it’s 'turn my swag on.' And my least favorite would be — I have this gross lava lamp. I thought it was going to be super cool-looking, but then I did it and it turned out to be rank, not my cup of tea."

Brady is 139 days into the challenge. He’s been posting each tattoo on TikTok, where he’s amassed over 300,000 followers. He doesn’t have a studio, but the TikTok popularity has brought clients into his home. And now he says he's tattooing full time.
Brady’s mom knows about the challenge. She even contributed to tattoo 126.
"I think she wants me to have the impression that she doesn’t like it, but deep down she likes it seeing as she tattooed me," Brady said.
Brady said he could just ink over any tattoos he doesn’t like. He also said he doesn’t care what other people think of the challenge.
"One man’s junk is another man’s treasure," Brady said. "Just as you might like Diet Coke, but I think Diet Coke’s not the best thing ever."
