We rely on our senses to help get us through the day. We also rely on our senses to help us remember the past. But what if our senses are less reliable than we think they are?

That’s the premise of the book, “The Man Who Tasted Words: A Neurologist Explores the Strange and Startling World of our Senses.” It’s written by Guy Leschziner, a professor of neurology and sleep medicine based in London.

The Show spoke with him and asked how he’d describe the process of our senses helping us navigate the world.
