Flu season is here in Arizona, and the state could see a rise in cases compared to previous years.
During the heart of the pandemic, the 2020-2021 season saw around 1,200 confirmed influenza cases, down significantly from the previous year. In the 2021-2022 season, as masking and other pandemic measures became more lax, cases jumped to more than 18,000 in the state.
With COVID-19 restrictions continuing to loosen and average cases below the national average, what can Arizonans expect from this flu season?
To learn about projections, when to get the vaccine and more The Show spoke with Dr. Nick Staab of the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.
