There's a chance of rain in Phoenix later this week

Published: Monday, September 5, 2022 - 10:37am

Hot temperatures in Phoenix will stick around this week, with above-average highs through Wednesday between 108 and 110 degrees.

But relief is on the way in the form of a late-week tropical storm. Friday and Saturday, high temps will hover closer to 100 due to increased moisture.

“We anticipate that there will be some remnant moisture of a tropical storm that’s going to move into the Southwest and produce cloudiness and more humidity, and bring the potential for rain,” said Austin Jamison with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

Jamison says people should take precautions as an excessive heat warning will persist through Wednesday.
