Arizona will get national attention this weekend, as the state is highlighted on the newest episode of “United Shades of America.” The show travels to Phoenix in order to discuss “wokeness” in America and critical race theory with its residents.

W. Kamau Bell is the show’s host. He describes why Maricopa County is the subject of the season’s premiere episode.

“There’s a couple of communities that are on fire about it, and certainly we found that in Maricopa County that there are some school boards on fire over critical race theory and schools being too ‘woke’ and ‘wokeness’ in general.”

Sunday’s episode will air at 7 p.m. on CNN.
