It’s opening day across Major League Baseball, and the Arizona Diamondbacks begins its season Thursday night at Chase Field.

After a work stoppage delayed the start of the 2022 Major League Baseball season, the Diamondbacks host the San Diego Padres.

Last year, the Diamondbacks posted a 52-110 record, finishing last in the National League West Division.

Fan Graphs projects the team to win 70 games this year, as it’s led by star second baseman Ketel Marte. The Diamondbacks will finish the season on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers in October.

To get a preview of the 2022 Diamondbacks, The Show spoke with Zach Buchanan, a baseball writer for the Athletic. The conversation started by talking about what are reasonable expectations for the team this season.
