Border security is one of the most important issues in Arizona, especially during an election year, and one of the biggest border issues debated across the political spectrum is the Migrant Protection Program (MPP) — commonly known as former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy. Under the MPP, migrants seeking asylum must wait in Mexico while their paperwork is processed.

A congressional panel debated border issues in the nation’s capital on March 2, delving into potential problems with the MPP. And Arizona Department of Homeland Security Director Tim Roemer testified on behalf of the program.

The Show spoke with Roemer to discuss everything border security.
