Phoenix Children's Hospital admitting fewer kids with COVID-19

The number of COVID-19 infections in Arizona has been dropping, and some mitigation measures, like masking, have also been relaxed.
Many schools that had required staff and students to wear masks on campus have made that optional. At the same time, parents of kids younger than 5 are still waiting for a vaccine to be approved.
Dr. Wassim Ballan says he was hoping to see good data on that last month, but that the research showed that while the dose was safe, it was not effective at protecting against infection. So the testing will continue.
Ballan is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The Show spoke with him to learn what he is seeing happen with COVID-19 cases at the hospital.
