Historically, soup hasn’t been a particularly big sell here in Phoenix. The weather window for it is simply way too narrow. But a pandemic changes things. And with the new omicron variant, lots of people are sick at home and looking for comfort food.

Charissa Lucille owns Wasted Ink Zine Distro in Phoenix, and they have been coping during the pandemic by staying home and making soup every Wednesday and documenting it on their Instagram (and dropping off a fair share with sick friends).

The Show spoke with them to learn about what makes for a good bowl of soup and about their forthcoming zine on the topic.
