The $185 million Loop 101 Improvement Project added a fourth lane in each direction for a 13-mile stretch.

The final major components of the Loop 101 Improvement Project in the north Phoenix area are now done.  

The $185 million project added a fourth lane in each direction for a 13-mile stretch.

The project that started three years ago also included reconstructed on- and off-ramps, new freeway lighting and signs, and noise barriers. 

Minor projects to finish the area including landscaping and striping continue.
