Christmas Day is a boon for sports fans in the Metro region as the Phoenix Suns host the Golden State Warriors this afternoon.

Sports 360 AZ founder Brad Cesmat said the matchup is likely a preview of an NBA playoff series next spring.

“It’s a December matchup we’re probably going to see again in a long series in May or early June when the playoffs start. These clearly are the two best teams in the Western Conference,” he said.

Tip-off is at 3 p.m.

Later this evening, the Arizona Cardinals will try to clench a playoff berth in the NFL as they host the Indianapolis Colts. The 10-4 Cardinals were shut down against the league-worst Detroit Lions in last Sunday’s loss.

Kickoff against the Colts is at 6:15 p.m. in Glendale.
