Phil Boas: Critical race theory is a problem, and Kari Lake isn't helping
The Show regularly checks in with the editorial board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.
Several of the current Republican candidates for governor have put a heavy focus on the state’s K-12 schools. But perceived frontrunner Kari Lake generated the most controversy recently when she suggested putting cameras in public school classrooms so parents could keep a closer eye on how teachers are instructing students.
Lake faced a backlash from all sides — including her GOP primary opponents.
And Laurie Roberts of the Republic wrote a column addressing the controversy.
The Show spoke with her colleague Phil Boas about it and how Lake came up with her idea.
