Author Lena Nguyen traverses galaxies to explore human psychology in her debut novel
Science fiction novels and other kinds of entertainment can often lead us into dystopian futures that mostly leave optimism and sunshine behind. And the merging of sci-fi and horror is a combination that may result in even darker tones.
Lena Nguyen just had her first novel published — “We Have Always Been Here” — and it fits comfortably into that sci-fi horror genre.
The book is set on a spaceship with a psychologist at its center, and relationships between humans and androids play a key role.
The Show spoke with Nguyen to learn about the novel and how it got started.
