Arizona’s senior senator has been a popular topic of conversation lately, be it among political observers or the writers of Saturday Night Live.

Her position on President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better plan has been the focus of a lot of speculation and, among some Democrats, a fair bit of angst.

But as Hank Stephenson explains, her negotiations on this bill, and the earlier infrastructure one, are part of a pattern that extends back to her time in the state Legislature.

Stephenson is co-founder of the newsletter Arizona Agenda, and he recently wrote a piece about Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in Politico, in which he talked to a number of her former colleagues at the Arizona Capitol.

The Show spoke with him and started the conversation by asking if there seems to be a consensus among those former lawmakers about what Sinema is after.
