University of Arizona Museum of Art reopens with 'The Art of Food' exhibition

Food is connected to everything — it’s, first off, a matter of survival. But it’s also a connection to culture and memory. It has economic and ethical implications. And, of course, it’s often beautiful to look at.

We’ve all heard the phrase, "we eat with our eyes," and if you do, the University of Arizona Museum of Art has a new exhibition for you.

The show is called “The Art of Food," and it opens Oct. 24 in Tucson. It features more than 100 works in a variety of mediums that all center on one, all important subject: food.

The works come from the extensive collection of philanthropist Jordan Schnitzer.

The Show spoke with curator Olivia Miller to learn about the exhibit.
