Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb wants to be a national brand
Sheriffs across the country generally received extra attention during the years of the Trump administration, with some of them weighing in more on political issues and less on strictly law enforcement topics.
Arizona is no stranger to high profile sheriffs, with Joe Arpaio leading Maricopa County’s department for decades, and Paul Babeu for a couple of terms in Pinal County.
Now, Babeu’s successor — Mark Lamb — is being followed closely as his popularity grows exponentially with ties to former President Donald Trump and his followers.
Jessica Pishko is an attorney who’s working on a book about sheriffs. She recently profiled Sheriff Lamb for Politico magazine.
