The first Tempe Fashion Week kicks off Oct. 2 at Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium.

When you think about fashion in Arizona, you might think about Phoenix Fashion Week.

The annual event has launched some local designers' careers and has grown into something a lot of us look forward to every year. But this weekend, another event is entering the scene — this time from Tempe.

Tempe Fashion Week kicks off Oct. 2 at Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium.

It is the brainchild of French transplant Sebastien Verstraet, a fashion photographer here who owns a Valley modeling agency. The Show spoke with him to learn about the event, and he said it’s something he’s wanted to do for a long time.
