The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

For many years, Republic columnist Robert Robb has called for a number of Arizona’s statewide positions to be appointed, rather than elected. The Arizona Corporation Commission was often the focal point. But in a new column over the weekend, Robb argued that attorney general, secretary of state and state treasurer should be jobs that are filled by gubernatorial appointees.

The Show spoke with Phil Boas of the Republic to learn about Robb’s premise.
