Crops from the Nalwoodi Denzhone Community Garden on the San Carlos Apache Reservation.

The monsoon season means so much to so many Arizonans, and this year we’re looking at how climate change is making it more extreme.

So far in this series, we’ve looked at the ways this changing season is affecting our wildlife and our cities — and their potential for future growth.

Now, let’s take a trip outside of the city to the San Carlos Reservation in eastern Arizona, where one small farm is working to produce food — and to heal its community.

This story was produced by KJZZ's Kaely Monahan.
