As Phoenix Suns fever rises, so do ticket prices. As of Wednesday afternoon, the NBA’s website showed the cheapest available tickets for game 2 of the NBA Finals were just under $600.

Katie Connor with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office says fans looking to score seats should buy from trusted vendors and use credit cards. 

“Unfortunately if you pay with cash too, there’s no way to really get back your money,” she said. “That’s why one of the tips is to make sure you use a credit card if possible because you can try to dispute that charge with your credit card company.”

Counterfeit tickets are not uncommon to Arizona consumers and law enforcement, thanks to past Super Bowls and NCAA basketball tournaments. Besides counterfeit tickets, Connor said scammers can potentially sell original tickets that have been voided because they’ve already been re-sold to online retailers that re-sell tickets.
