Pandemic Shines Light On Nursing Home Mismanagement
The pandemic has affected nearly every aspect of our lives, including caring for loved ones who are elderly or suffering from a critical or long-term illness.
That reality put nursing home care and administration much more in the spotlight over the past year and a half and brought deeper questions about how facilities are managed, in particular when a powerful virus is on the loose.
The Arizona Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers has overseen some of that, but Gov. Doug Ducey has decided to shift the oversight to the Arizona Department of Health Services.
