The credit card company Discover is expanding its paid college program for employees. The University of Arizona and Paul Quinn College, a historically Black college, join Wilmington University and Brandman University in the Discover College Commitment program.

Discover’s program covers tuition and fees and books and supplies for online bachelor’s degrees in business management, organizational management, business administration, computer science, and computer and network security.

“Our program has always been designed to help our employees pursue their careers while getting a degree, and now we’ve made it easier than ever for them to continue their education,” Andy Eichfeld, chief human resources and administrative officer, said in a news release.

Benefits start the first day of employment. Discover has about 3,000 employees at its customer care center in Phoenix.

In May, Waste Management announced it would extend undergraduate and graduate degrees, short-term technology and business certificate programs at no cost to employees. Later this year, the company will extend educational opportunities to spouses and children of employees at no cost. More than 2,300 Arizonans work for the garbage collection, disposal and recycling company.
