Consumer Price Increases Hitting Arizonans In Poverty The Hardest

Prices are going up on everything from used cars and medical care to food and clothing. In fact, over the past 12 months, prices have gone up by more than 4%.

It’s leading to concerns about inflation as the economy recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. But price rises like these, even when they're just by a few dollars, also have a ripple effect for people living in poverty.

The Show spoke more about these difficult realities with Malissa Geer of Catholic Charities Community Services. The conversation began with a look back at how difficult this year has been for people she works with who already face financial challenges.
