Arizona’s 2022 U.S. Senate race is already underway, as Sen. Mark Kelly looks to defend the seat he won last November.

The possible list of Republican challengers is long and includes Attorney General Mark Brnovich and Congressman Andy Biggs — among many others.

Joining that group is Blake Masters, chief operating officer of Thiel Capital and president of the Thiel Foundation. The Thiel in those entities refers to Peter Thiel, billionaire founder of PayPal and a ground-floor investor of Facebook.

Thiel has announced a $10 million investment in Masters’s campaign.

Alex Isenstadt is a reporter for Politico who has covered Thiel’s political activity. The Show spoke with him to learn about Thiel and Masters.
