The University of Arizona expects its COVID-19 vaccination site will be decommissioned by the summer as more people become vaccinated and demand decreases and as other avenues for vaccination will become more readily available, officials announced Monday.

The last day for vaccination is expected to be June 25, said university spokeswoman Holly Jensen. The site will reduce its hours of operation over the coming weeks.

"As we wind down and get into second shots only, we’re going to move to a Monday through Saturday and then eventually a Monday through Friday operation," she said.

The university will send out a media release every week letting the public know what changes in the operations they can expect.
