The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema became Arizona’s first Democratic U.S. senator in more than 20 years when she began serving in 2019. But Sinema’s recent advocacy for the filibuster was criticized by some in her own party. And last week’s thumbs-down on including a minimum wage increase in the latest pandemic rescue package increased the volume of that criticism.

Phil Boas of the Republic wrote a column about the situation, and The Show spoke with him for more about it.
