More than 100,000 Arizonans logged on to book appointments for coronavirus vaccines Tuesday, filling a month of time slots at the state's two stadium vaccine sites within hours.

Arizona’s Department of Health Services plans to launch a new vaccination site at Phoenix Municipal Stadium in February. Appointments became available at 9 a.m. Tuesday for teachers, adults 65 and older, and other prioritized populations. February appointments at the site were fully booked by noon, according to a tweet from the department.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the department said some slots were still available at its State Farm Stadium vaccination site, which runs 24 hours a day. But by 11 p.m., the state said that location was also fully booked for February.

The department has not announced when additional appointments may open. Vaccines are in limited supply nationwide, but state and county health officials have said they are working to launch additional vaccination sites as more doses become available.
